This is the second mark of Shobido workshop.

Currently only two medals marked with S are known.
The first will be Showa Enthronement Commemorative Medal from 1928.

The mark S can be on the knob



or on the connecting ring.

 

Thanks to the paper wrappers that are found in cases with these medals



we know the owner of this mark.

Under the assumption that mark S on the Japanese Red Cross medals indicates Shobido workshop the proved time period for this mark

[February 1929;1956]​

The lowest time coordinate is set by Showa-28 paper wrappers.
The highest time coordinate is is set by post-war Red Cross Society Golden Special Membership Medal that was introduced in 1956.
