1943 Laurel and Vargas Medal

Struck to commemorate the establishment of the Executive Council.
All medals were made by Crispulo Zamora workshop in Manila.
According to Basso https://asiamedals.info/threads/homma-medal.24468/#post-351576 only 1500 bronze medals were made.

Size 44 mm.
Weight 50 g (thick planchet).

The stars in the Katipunan symbol is said to represent the three major Philippine landmasses of Luzon, Visayas and Mindinao.
While the 8-rayed sun represents liberty and the first eight provinces to rise up against the Spanish.
