Toyo Communication Equipment Co., Ltd. (Toyocom) was originally founded in 1891 as a communications equipment manufacturer, known for its technological capabilities, which were even used in the Zero fighter. It later expanded into the quartz device business, and in 2005 merged with Seiko Epson's quartz business to form "Epson Toyocom." Currently, the company manufactures quartz components under the name "Miyazaki Epson."​
