Rear Admiral Motozawa Hanzo/本沢半三 海軍少将

Motozawa Hanzo joined the Imperial Japanese Navy as a member of the Naval Engineer Academy's 31st Class, graduating in 1922. Prior to the Second Sino-Japanese War he served aboard a number of ships and in the Shanghai SNLF. During the Second Sino-Japanese War Motozawa served with the 1st Gunboat Fleet, Ominato Defense Force, 45th Destroyer Division, and the Jiujiang Base Unit (九江基地隊). Motozawa was assigned to the Aircraft Carrier Hosho in 1941 and served with the carrier during the attack on Pearl Harbor. Later in the Pacific War he served as Chief Engineer Officer aboard Battleship Nagato and was killed in action when the battleship sunk on October 25, 1944.​
