Marked with gold hallmark from 1908+ time period and French import gold hallmark "coquille" (shell with alpha = Paris) for 585 gold that was introduced in 1994.

Ring marked with a St. Petersburg assay office gold hallmark "56, kokoshnik to the left, initials of the assay inspector of the St. Petersburg assay office "ЯЛ/YL" (Яков Ляпунов/Yakov Lyapunov)" and unreadable maker's mark. Reverse medallion was taken from the "Kapitul" Saint Stanislaus order made by Albert Keibel workshop https://asiamedals.info/forums/orders-of-st-stanislaus-made-by-albert-keibel-ak.789/.

Cross has some of the features of Ivan Osipov workshop https://asiamedals.info/threads/ord...y-ivan-vasilievich-osipov-i-o-workshop.25721/. Swords were added after 1908 and bear St. Petersburg assay office gold hallmarks from 1908+ time period. The double-headed eagle on the bottom right has been restored.​

Ring also marked with a French import gold hallmark "coquille" (shell with alpha = Paris) for 585 gold that was introduced in 1994. Most likely obverse and reverse medallions were taken from an IK-made 3rd class cross https://asiamedals.info/threads/3rd-class-orders-of-st-stanislaus-made-by-julius-keibel-ik.26617/. Almost certainly swords were added to the cross later.

The crosses of this workshop have a very characteristic rear medallions. 3rd class with swords and bow of flat black enamel. Gold, enamel. Size 45.9 x 43.6 mm Weight (with ribbon) 15.7 g. Marked with partly readable gold hallmark "56" and maker's mark "И. " or "П.". Marks. Same cross...

Interesting crosses made by an unidentified Russian workshop during 1860s/1870s. All such crosses known to date have a stable set of features, all have flat "black" /dark cherry/ enamel and marked on the ring with two marks: gold hallmark "56" and "double-headed eagle inside a circle" mark...
