Such breast star were privately commissioned in order to replace original diamond encrusted breast stars that oftenly were “turned into money” by awardees.

Pin was taken from a Keibel-made breast star marked on reverse side with "double headed eagle", St. Petersburg assay office silver hallmark "84" and "Keibel".
