Orders of the Lion and Sun made by JMJ van Wielik, Hague

Van Wielik was the Dutch court and government supplier of medals, awards and decorations. The company was founded on November 14, 1841 by watchmaker Johannes Martinus Josephus van Wielik. In 1841 he settled at Noordeinde in The Hague, district F number 107 (now Noordeinde 9), where he took over the watchmaking business from the deceased Henri Louis Jeannet.​

On January 22, 1866, Johannes van Wielik bought the building on the corner of Noordeinde and Hartogstraat from Wilhelmina Anthonia and Anthonia Francisca Boon. The new building had space for a shop , a studio and a storage space. In addition to watches, he also traded in luxury and art items. Business went well and in 1871 watchmaker Hendrikus Beusekamp from Zutphen came to live with him. Five years later, Beusekamp married Louisa Margaretha Schreuder, a cousin by marriage of Johannes, who also lived there.​

Johannes van Wielik died on May 27, 1881. The company was continued by his widow Louisa Schreuder and Hendrikus Beusekamp. They gave it the name Firma JMJ van Wielik. Around that period they began to make decorations.

Hendrikus Beusekamp died on February 9, 1915. His second wife Johanna Clasina Beusekamp continued the company. Later, Hendrikus' son, Johannes Lodewijk Marinus Beusekamp, became the boss. He was succeeded by Henri Adolph Beusekamp, the son of Johanna Clasina.

Until June 29, 1938, the partners lived above the business at Noordeinde. Then Henri Adolph Beusekamp moved to Laan van Nieuw Oosteinde 192 in Voorburg. After his death in 1967, the firm directors were GJ Holtrust, his son EH N. Holtrust and H. Böschen. The watchmaking business was closed in 1986, since then firm made only awards.

In 1988, the building on the Noordeinde corner of Hartogstraat was sold.

The company temporarily moved in with the firm of Focke & Meltzer. In October 1996, Van Wielik moved to his own building at Kneuterdijk number 2b, between Place and Hartogstraat.

The Van Wielik company office permanently closed its doors in June 2018. Since then the company operates on the internet under the name Van Wilik https://www.vanwilik.nl/
