Orders of St.George made by Marius Delande, Paris

For many years these crosses were attributed to the Paris workshop of Arthus Bertrand. Thanks to the 1934 Delande workshop catalogue "Les Ordres Français - Les Ordres Coloniaux - Médailles Commémoratives - Médailles d'Honneur des Ministères - Les Croix et Médailles de la Guerre 1914-18 des Pays Alliés" we known the name of actual manufacturer of these peculiar crosses.​

1st variation in silver.

4th class cross.

Silver, gilding, enamel.
Size 37 mm.

Marked with French silver hallmark "boar's head" indicating .800 or greater fineness and with partly readable manufacturer's mark "... bee ...".

Marked with French silver hallmark "boar's head".

 

4th variation "СТЕII" in silver.

Eccentric mix of 4th class Saint George order and Saint George cross of unidentified class.

Size 42.9 x 39.2 mm.
Weigh 15.05 g.

Instead of СТЕП /class/ we observe СТЕII. Obviously French manufacturer was not familiar with the Russian letter П.
