Makers mark "PL" + St. Petersburg assay office mark ("St. Petersburg coat of arms") + silver finesses mark "84".

 

St.Petersburg-based workshop PL was active during 1840s-1870s time period.

PL mark with different geometry from the 1882-1898 time period is also known (it is not clear if this mark belong to the same workshop).

Mark were found on silver cockades for headdresses of officers of the Guards units of the Russian Imperial Army.

1st class cross of flat "black" enamel.

Marked with maker's mark "PL", St. Petersburg assay office gold hallmark "56" and St. Petersburg assay office year mark "1844". Obverse and reverse medallions have iconography that is practically identical to medallions of Saint Anna orders made by Julius Keibel workshop https://asiamedals.info/threads/1st-class-st-anna-orders-made-by-julius-keibel-ik.26764/ With high degree of probability one of both medallions were replaced.
