Maison Bacqueville began manufacturing medals and decorations since 1790. Back then it was known as Halley. Octave Lasne took over Halley around 1860. In 1869 Lasne obtained the right to manufacture coins for the Emperor Napoleon III.

The store was located at Galerie Montpensier, 5 at the Palais-Royal in Paris. In 1900 the Lasne firm was bought by Albert Bacqueville. In 1980 it was bought y the Marck family (the current owner) specializing in the manufacture of military uniforms. However it kept the name of Maison Bacqueville and the address remained practically unchanged (Galerie Montpensier, 6-7-8 at the Palais-Royal in Paris), in the Montpensier gallery of the Palais-Royal https://www.bacqueville-medailles.com/
Currently Maison Bacqueville is one of the three manufacturers that has the "right to strike" for French and foreign awards including the Legion of Honor, Military Medal, War Cross, Order of Academic Awards, Order of Arts and Letters to name a few.
