Medallions of St. Anna Order

It is often stated that these medallions are an early form of the official’s /officiant’s/ badge (see also https://asiamedals.info/threads/medallion-of-st-andrew-order.23805/ ; https://asiamedals.info/threads/medallions-of-st-alexander-nevsky-order.25740/ ; https://asiamedals.info/threads/medallion-of-st-catherine-order.25839/). But we shouldn't forget that practice of wearing such order medallion was widespread among knights of European orders during the 18th century.
