Kin'ichi Yasumitsu (April 2, 1871 - October 24, 1960) was born in Saga prefecture. Eldest son of Army Major Nobuyoshi Yasumitsu. After graduating from Tokyo Prefectural Junior High School, he graduated from the Military Academy (6th class) in February 1895. In May of the same year he was commissioned as Second Lieutenant and assigned to the 3rd Infantry Regiment. After working as an instructor in the Toyama Army School, he graduated from the Army War College (16th class) in November 1902 and became company commander of the 3rd Infantry Regiment. In November 1903 he became an instructor in Toyama Army School. In May 1906 he bacame Staff Officer of the 5th Division and in November 1910 he was promoted to Infantry Lieutenant Colonel and attached to the 5th Infantry Regiment . In March 1912 he became commander of the Aomori Regimental Ward and in February 1915 he was promoted to Infantry Colonel and assumed command of the 33rd Infantry Regiment. In August 1916 he was promoted to commander of the 2nd Guards Infantry Regiment of the Imperial Guards and after serving as Chief of Staff of the 17th Division, in November 1918 he was promoted to Army Major General. In August 1920 he became Chief of the Army General Department and after serving as Chief of Staff of the Korean Army advanced to Lieutenant General in August 1923 and was appointed Chief of the Aviation Department. He was transferred to the reserve in August 1929.
