1925 Vatican Mission Exposition Medal in silver (size approx. 32 mm, weight approx. 13 g.) In 1925 the Vatican Missionary Exhibition took place, presenting thousands of objects sent by Catholic missions around the world. Resulting from substantial efforts by the Church, the exhibition had a significant public impact, with an estimated one million visitors. It marked a critical moment in the international affirmation of the Church, as well as the reformulation and expansion of its missionary policy in the aftermath of the Great War.​

Knight cross of the order of St. Gregory the Great made by Tanfani & Bertarelli. Tanfani and Bertarelli originated from the merging of two older companies, A. Tanfani & Figli of Rome and Fratelli Bertarelli of Milan. Firm was the Vatican’s official manufacturer of Orders and decorations from 1905 onwards. There are also some examples of earlier Knighthood awards, which date prior to 1905, that feature the marks “A. Tanfani” or “Tanfani.” The company name was changed after 1967 to Ditta Augusto Casazza following the death of the original owners., and they continue to be the modern supplier of the Supreme Order of Christ, the Order of the Golden Militia, the Order of Pius IX, the Order of St. Gregory the Great, and the Order of St. Sylvester.

The Pontifical Equestrian Order of St. Gregory the Great /Ordo Sancti Gregorii Magni; Ordine di San Gregorio Magno/ was established on 1 September 1831, by Pope Gregory XVI, seven months after his election as Pope. The order is one of the five orders of knighthood of the Holy See. The honor is bestowed in recognition of personal service to the Holy See and to the Catholic Church, through their unusual labors, their support of the Holy See, and the examples they set in their communities and their countries.​
