Air Force Breast Badge/航空胸章

Introduced on October 12, 1943 by Imperial Edict No.774.

At first badge was intended only for the army air force schools officer cadets but on May 9, 1944 by Imperial Edict No. 331 the right to wear this badge was granted to all IJA air force officers and officers cadets. This includes 将校 - Officers, 下士官 - Petty Officers, 士官候補生 - Officer Cadets, 技術候補生 - Engineer Cadets, 軍医候補生 - Surgeon Cadets, 甲種幹部候補生 - Class A Officer Candidates, 操縦候補生 - Pilot Candidates. Only 甲乙種區分前ノ幹部候補生 - Class А and B Officer Candidates who studied in non-aviation army schools and 乙種幹部候補生- Class В Officer Candidates were not granted permission to wear these wings.​
