Yuzaburou Hata (
畑勇三郎; February 17, 1890 - November 25, 1970) was born in Tokyo Prefecture. Graduated from the Army Academy (23rd class) in May 1911. In December of the same year, he was commissioned as a second lieutenant in artillery and assigned to the 6th Heavy Artillery Regiment. In November 1914, he graduated from the Army Artillery School Advanced Course (20th class). In November 1921, he graduated from the Army War College (33rd class) and was appointed company commander the 6th Field Heavy Artillery Regiment.
In December 1922, he became an instructor at the Army Heavy Artillery School and was stationed in the United States. In August 1926, he was promoted to artillery major. In August 1928, he became an instructor at the Heavy Artillery School and served as an instructor at the Army War College. In August 1930, he was promoted to artillery lieutenant colonel, and in August 1934, he was promoted to artillery colonel. In December of the same year, he was appointed commander of the 22nd Field Artillery Regiment, and after serving as chief of the research department at the Heavy Artillery School, he was appointed chief of staff of the 13th Division in September 1937 and sent to the Second Sino-Japanese War. In March 1938, he was appointed executive officer of the Heavy Artillery School, and in July of the same year, he was promoted to major general and assigned to the Artillery Inspectorate.
In March 1939, he was appointed commander of the 3rd Field Heavy Artillery Brigade and deployed to the Nomonhan Incident

In April 1940, he was appointed Deputy Governor of Sanjiang Province in Manchukuo. In January 1942, he was transferred to Governor of Dong'an Province. In July 1944, he was conscripted and appointed Director of the Hiroshima Municipal Transport Control Department. In May 1945, he was transferred to Chief of the Hiroshima Branch of the Shipping Command, where he served until the end of the war.
