Marked on obverse under the enamel with maker's mark "KK" and "Double-headed eagle", ring marked with St. Petersburg assay office year mark "1843" ; all eagles marked with "the coat of arms of St. Petersburg". Original ribbon loop was lost and replaced on a new one that was made in Italy after 1978.

Ribbon loop marked with an Italian gold hallmark "0.950" and partly readable marker's mark "292 AR" /registered on February 17, 1978/ for jewellery workshop of Lucio Carniani /Leopoldina di Carniani Lucio Societa' Semplice/, Arezzo, Italy. Another possible reading of the maker's mark is "292 MI" for Eugenio Algerini, Milan, Italy.
