Vice Admiral Kori Hidesaburo/桑折英三郎 海軍中将

Hidesaburo Kori (桑折英三郎; December 21 , 1887 – December 19, 1977) was born in Tokyo. Graduated from the Naval Academy (37th class) in November 1909, and commissioned as a naval ensign in December 1910. Later he studied at the Naval War College B-class and the Naval Gunnery School Advanced Course. Became buntaichō /squad leader/ on the "Iwate" in December 1917, served as gunnery officer on the "Yamakaze", and instructor and adjutant at the Gunnery School, and was promoted to lieutenant commander in December 1921. Graduated from the Naval War College (A-class, 20th class) in November 1922.

In December 1922, he was appointed squad leader of the "Hyuga". In March 1923, he became an Imperial Attaché to Prince Takamatsu Nobuhito , and after that, following Prince Takamatsu's transfers, he served on the crew of the "Asama", "Nagato", "Fuso", and "Furutaka", and was attached to Yokosuka Naval District. During this time, in December 1926, he was promoted to lieutenant commander.

In April 1927, he was assigned to Yokosuka Naval District and traveled to Europe and the United States. In May 1928, he became the executive officer of the 'Kiso", and after serving as a member of the Navy Ministry's Military Affairs Bureau, in December 1930, he was promoted to naval captain and an instructor at the Naval War College, and in the same month, he also served as an instructor at the Naval Accounting School. In December 1931, he was transferred to aide-de-camp and secretary of the Military Council. In December 1935, he was appointed captain of the "Mutsu" and transferred to the position of chief of staff at Sasebo Naval District , and in December 1936, he was promoted to rear admiral.

In September 1938, he became commander of the 13th Squadron, and after serving as commander of the 1st Combined Special Landing Force, he was transferred to the military attaché position at the Japanese Embassy in Manchukuo in October 1939. In November 1940, he was promoted to vice admiral and assigned to the Naval General Staff. In December of the same year, he was transferred to the reserve forces and appointed as a tutor to the Imperial Japanese Navy.

On November 28, 1947, he was provisionally banned from holding public office.
