Colonel, commander of the 160th infantry Abkhazian regiment, Mikhail Tsygalsky awarded with the St.George weapon for that during the withdrawal of the rearguard of the division on September 1, being the chief of staff of the 280th infantry division, he led the actions of the rearguard units, exposing his life to obvious danger, at what he was first shell-shocked, and then wounded in the head; with his courage and diligence, he assisted the rearguard in achieving the set goal, contributed to its successful actions against the strongest enemy, who made a deep coverage of the flank of the division, and led the rearguard units to join with other parts of the division, assisting the division commander in all this in fulfilling the task assigned to the division. /Указ о пожаловании полковника, командира 160-го пехотного Абхазского полка, Михаила Цыгальского Георгиевским оружием за то, что при отходе арьергарда дивизии 1 сентября, будучи начальником штаба 280-й пехотной дивизии, руководил действиями частей арьергарда, подвергая свою жизнь явной опасности, при чем был сначала контужен, а затем и ранен в голову; своим мужеством и распорядительностью содействовал арьергарду в достижении поставленной цели, способствовал его удачным действиям против сильнейшего противника, произведшего глубокий охват фланга дивизии, и вывел части арьергарда на соединение с прочими частями дивизии, содействуя всем этим начальнику дивизии в выполнении поставленной дивизии задачи. Tsygalsky Mikhail Viktorovich (1874-1928) was educated in the 2nd Cadet Corps, the Mikhailovsky Artillery School, and the Academy of the General Staff. He was released from the school as a lieutenant (1894) in the 3rd Guards Artillery Brigade. From 1898 - lieutenant, from 1900 - captain of the guard. He served as a licensed company commander in the 132nd Bendery Infantry Regiment (1903-1904). Member of the Russo-Japanese War of 1904-1905. Senior adjutant of the headquarters of the 9th Army Corps (1904-1905); senior adjutant of the headquarters of the 32nd Infantry Division (1905); chief officer for special assignments at the headquarters of the 2nd consolidated rifle corps (1905-1906); senior adjutant of the headquarters of the 4th Caucasian division (1906-1907); senior adjutant of the headquarters of the 23rd Infantry Division (1907-1908); staff officer for assignments at the military headquarters of the Don Cossacks (1908-1909). Lieutenant colonel (1908). He was seconded to the Novocherkassk Cossack School for teaching military sciences (1909-1914). He served as a battalion commander in the 96th Omsk Infantry Regiment (1913). Colonel (1911). In 1914-1915. served as chief of staff of the 28th Infantry Division. Participated in a campaign in East Prussia in August-September 1914 and in the battle at Gumbinen. Then he commanded the 160th Abkhaz Infantry Regiment (1915). Awarded the St. George Arms for Distinction by the Chief of Staff of the 28th Infantry Division. Chief of Staff of the 83rd Infantry Division (1916). Major General (1916). Chief of Staff of the 31st Army Corps (1917). From 1917 until demobilization he commanded the 130th Infantry Division. Voluntarily joined the Red Army. In 1918-1919. Chief of Staff of the 7th Army; head of the department of formations of the 7th Army; Inspector of the 7th Army (1919); infantry inspector of the Petrograd military district (1921). Included in the lists of the General Staff of the Red Army. Staff teacher at the Higher Military Petrograd Pedagogical School. In 1922 he was admitted to the duties of assistant head of the educational department of the same school. He died in Leningrad in 1928.

В 1918-1919 гг. начальник штаба 7-й армии; начальник управления формирований 7-й армии; инспектор 7-й армии (1919); инспектор пехоты Петроградского военного округа (1921). Включен в списки Генштаба РККА. Штатный преподаватель Высшей военной Петроградской педагогической школы. В 1922 г. допущен к исполнению обязанностей помощника начальника учебного отдела той же школы. Умер в Ленинграде в 1928 г./
