Dmitry Lazarevich Kuchkin /Дмитрий Лазаревич Кучкин/ was a merchant of the second guild (capital from 1 to 10 thousand rubles, with the right to own factory/капитал от 1 до 10 тыс. рублей, с правом владения фабричными производствами). In 1898, Dmitry Lazarevich founded a metal products factory in Moscow /Фабрика металлических изделий Дмитрия Лазаревича Кучкина, 4-я Мещанская улица, 2-й Лаврский проезд/. This factory also had a branch in Kazan. Among others small items made of brass, tin and steel, Kuchkin factory manufactured coin-like jettons and official medals, crosses and orders.

The medal "For Bravery/За храбрость" (medal was established in 1807 to reward soldiers of irregular troops and paramilitary formations (Cossack, militia, cavalry irregular, police, police, security, sentry) who did not have officer or class ranks, for distinction in combat as well as for feats shown in battles with disturbers of public order and predatory animals, both in wartime and in peacetime. On August 10, 1913 medal was reformed and renamed as St. George medal and assigned to the Military Order of the Holy Great Martyr and Victorious George) was manufactured by Kuchkin factory in different metals.
