Soviet air commander during World War II, commander of the 17th Air Army, and later Marshal of the aviation Vladimir Alexandrovich Sudets (Владимир Александрович Судец; 23 October 1904 – 6 May 1981). From 1933 to 1937, he served in the Mongolian People's Republiс, serving as an instructor and advisor to the commander of an aviation brigade of the Mongolian People's Revolutionary Army. In March–April 1936, he took part in the border conflict near Adagdullaan, for which he was the first Soviet citizen to be awarded the Mongolian Order of the Red Banner for Military Valor.
