Sergei Konstantinovich Voina-Panchenko in 1918 with 2nd class St. Saint Stanislaus order with swords and eagles of pre-1856 type

Interesting anomaly.

Obviously Sergei Konstantinovich is wearing early privately-comissioned 2nd class St.Saint Stanislaus order with swords made with flat black enamel and small eagles of pre-1856 type https://asiamedals.info/threads/185...skix-imperatorskix-ordenax-v-1856-godu.28277/

How could this happen?

Scenario 1.

Cross was manufactured around 1915 by unknown workshop according to the design pattern that was popular during 1840s/1850s.

Scenario 2.

Cross was made during 1840s/1850s and bought by/presented to Sergei Konstantinovich after 1915.

Note that it looks like all his St.Vladimir and St.Anna orders were also privately commissioned and made with a flat "black" enamel. Not so unusual practice for the 1910s https://asiamedals.info/threads/imp...ed-enamel-from-1900s-1910s-time-period.26746/ .
