Sagami Army Arsenal or the 6th Arsenal of the Imperial Japanese Army was located in the city of Sagamihara, in Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan, about 40 km (25 mi) southwest of Tokyo. From 1935 to the end of WWII, this location was used by Mitsubishi for developing and manufacturing tanks, production of ammunition, weapons and military equipment. From September 1945 to the present, it has been a military base of the US Army, where repair and restoration work and maintenance of American military equipment are carried out.
