"National Health Exercises" were introduced in 1928 by the Postal Savings Bureau of the Ministry of Communications (the predecessor of the current Japan Post Insurance and Japan Post), and are the roots of the current "Radio Calisthenics/ラジオ体操." They were created with the aim of maintaining the health and improving the physical fitness of the nation's citizens.

The very first radio translation of "National Health Exercises" that was broadcasted on December 22, 1928.
