Silver breast star of 1st/2nd grade.

Silver, gilt, enamel.
Size 82 х 81.5 mm.
Weight 81.39 g.

Marked with Moscow assay office silver hallmarks from 1908+ time period and maker's mark "ИА/IA" for Ivan Alexeyevich Alekseev /Иван Алексеевич Алексеев/.

Note the unusual construction of central medallion.

Marked with Moscow assay office silver hallmark "84 + ИЛ" from 1899-1908 time period and maker's mark "ИА/IA" for Ivan Alexeyevich Alekseev /Иван Алексеевич Алексеев/.

Original screw was cut off and pin was added.

ИЛ = управляющий Московским пробирным округом с 1899 Иван Лебедкин = IL = manager of the Moscow assay district since 1899 Ivan Lebedkin.

 

Another example of gold breast star but this time from pre-1898 time period and with unaltered screw fastening. Breast star belong to the Colonel Boris Andreevich Arkannikov (Борис Андреевич Арканников; 13.04.1886 - 17.03.1965).

On 01/01/1909 Boris Andreevich was a Lieutenant of the 23rd Artillery Brigade. Graduated from the Nikolaev Military Academy (1913; 2nd category; in the List of the General Staff 1914; not listed). World War participant. Captain (08/09/1914). Ranked among the gen. headquarters (1914). Assistant Art. adjutant of the department quarter general headquarters of the 12th Army (from 11/09/1915). Assistant Art. adjutant of the headquarters of the Kronstadt fortress (from 01/26/1916). Art. adjutant of the headquarters of the Kronstadt fortress (from 07/29/1917). Lieutenant Colonel (August 15, 1917).

Head of the operational department of the headquarters of the Kronstadt fortress (from 07.1918). Head of the operational department of the fortress headquarters (from 15-16.01.1919). Head of courses for junior command staff of the 7th Army headquarters (from 11/25/1919). Head of the operational department of the headquarters of the Kronstadt fortress (from 01/15/1920). On the eve of the uprising in Kronstadt in 1921, he was the head of the operational department of the fortress headquarters. One of the leaders of the Kronstadt uprising. During the uprising, he was part of the defense headquarters of the fortress created by the Military Revolutionary Committee. Acting Chief of the Defense Staff of the naval fortress of Kronstadt and the fortress region (03/11-18/1921). After the defeat of the uprising, he walked across the ice of the Gulf of Finland to Finland, where he was interned. On 08/01/1922 - in Vyborg.

He was buried in the Orthodox cemetery in Helsinki.​
