Orders of St.George made by Brothers Bovdzey /БрБ/ workshop

Brothers Bovdzey partnership /Товарищество "Братья Бовдзей"/ was located in Moscow. Workshop was manufactured military and civilian items including uniform buttons, badges and other metal paraphernalia for military units, fire departments and civil organizations.


Excerpt from the "Reference Book on Persons who Received Merchant and Trade Certificates for the 1st and 2nd Guilds in Moscow in 1915".

"Brothers Bovdzey". Exists since February 13, 1914; members of the trading house Moscow merchant's son Leonid Yakovlevich Bovdzei and peasant Ivan Leonidovich Bovdzei. Military officers items. Bolshaya Yakimanka street, Maranovsky lane, building No.21., - 5756"

Order of St. George for edged weapon with distinctive features of Brothers Bovdzey /БрБ/ iconography.

Mounted on the combined St.George and St.Anna naval officer's dagger for bravery.

Dagger was bought in the St. Petersburg Fokine's officer's shop /Fokin Petr Alexandrovich (Фокин Петр Александрович) hereditary honorary citizen, merchant of the 2nd guild, "master of military officer things/мастер военно-офицерских вещей". From 1875 he was the supplier of the Court of His Imperial Highness Grand Duke Alexander Alexandrovich, and from 1881 he was the supplier of the Court of His Majesty Emperor Alexander III. From the 1850s to 1915, Fokine's officer's shop operated in St. Petersburg. Fokine's store offered buyers, along with other goods, edged weapons with blades, mostly of foreign production/.​
