Order of Saint Michael and Saint George Decorated with Diamonds and Rubies of Adolphus Frederick, Duke of Cambridge

Badge and breast star were made for Adolphus, Duke of Cambridge who was appointed Grand Master of the Order of St Michael & St George by George IV in 1825. Both are currently in the Royal Collection.

This Star of the Order of St.Michael and St. George, formerly belonged to Adolphus, Duke of Cambridge (First Chancellor of the Order)
and was purchased by George Prince of Wales on his appointment as Grand Master. 1905.

Prince Adolphus, Duke of Cambridge, KG, GCB, GCMG, GCH, PC (Adolphus Frederick; 24 February 1774 – 8 July 1850) was the tenth child and seventh son of King George III and Queen Charlotte of the United Kingdom. He held the title of Duke of Cambridge from 1801 until his death. He also served as Viceroy of Hanover on behalf of his brothers George IV and William IV.​
