Vladimir Ivanovich Dmitriev (3.6.1879, St. Petersburg - 18.2.1965, Paris), captain of the 1st rank. From the nobility, the son of a doctor, a prominent zemstvo figure. Graduated from the Imperial St. Petersburg University and the Maritime Academy (1904). He entered the service in 1896 and was promoted to midshipman in 1899. From 1900 to 1902 he was on overseas voyages on ships of the Pacific Ocean squadron. On December 6, 1903, he was promoted to lieutenant with seniority from December 6, 1901. Military navigator, participant in the Tsushima Battle. In 1907 and 1908, naval navigator of the headquarters of the commander of a separate detachment of ships assigned to sail with the ship's midshipmen. In Bizerte, he procured French rations for the Russians, ensured the functioning of the Naval Corps, where 340 midshipmen and cadets were trained (the first graduation in 1922), and contributed to the continuation of their education in universities in France, the Czech Republic and Yugoslavia. С 1900 г. по 1902 г. находился в заграничном плавании на судах эскадры Тихого океана. 6.12.1903 г. произведен в лейтенанты со старшинством с 6.12.1901 г. Военный штурман, участник Цусимского боя. В 1907 г. и 1908 г. флотский штурман штаба командующего отдельным отрядом судов, назначенных для плавания с корабельными гардемаринами. С мая 1909 г. по март 1911 г. старший офицер крейсера «Адмирал Макаров». В 1912 г. произведен в капитаны 2-го ранга. В 1913 г. назначен военно-морским агентом во Франции, Бельгии, Испании и Португалии. Во время Первой мировой войны способствовал принятию русских моряков во французский флот. 30.7.1916 г. за отличие по службе произведен в капитаны 1-го ранга. После революции в эмиграции во Франции, проживал в Париже. Участвовал в снабжении армий и флота Колчака, Деникина, Врангеля; в передаче судов Черноморского флота Франции и оказании помощи русским эмигрантам. Некоторое время являлся секретарем созданного по решению от 1.8.1919 г. Комитета помощи при Русско-Британском братстве — благотворительной организации, направлявшей свои усилия на помощь фронту и тылу белых армий. В Бизерте выхлопотал французский паек для русских, обеспечил функционирование Морского корпуса, где обучались 340 гардемаринов и кадет (первый выпуск в 1922 г.), и способствовал продолжению их образования в вузах Франции, Чехии и Югославии. Почетный председатель Морского собрания; председатель Благотворительного комитета Совета старшин Морского собрания, Всезарубежного объединения морских организаций, Союза русских кавалеров Почетного легиона (1935 г.), Попечительского комитета русского кладбища в Сент-Женевьев-де-Буа под Парижем (1951 г.). Председатель (1951 г.) и член (1952 г.) комитета по устройству Дня русской культуры. Член Особого совещания по оказанию помощи чинам флота и их семьям (1921–1922 гг.), Русского (объединенного) эмигрантского комитета (с 31.7.1924 г.). Член приходского совета Александро-Невского кафедрального собора в Париже (1949–1952 гг.), совета Союза русских дворян (1949–1953 гг.), совета Союза ревнителей памяти Императора Николая II (с 11.5.1958 г.). Награжден орденами: Св. Анны 3-й ст. с мечами и бантом (1907 г.), Св. Станислава 2-й ст. (1907 г.), Св. Анны 2-й ст. (1912 г.), Св. Владимира 4-й ст. (1915 г.); иностранными орденами: японским Священного Сокровища 5-й ст. (1902 г.), офицерским крестом ордена Итальянской Короны (1908 г.), кавалерским (1909 г.), а затем офицерским (1913 г.) крестами французского ордена Почетного Легиона, черногорским орденом Данило I 5-й ст. и офицерским крестом бельгийского ордена Леопольда (1916 г.).
