Saburo Inagaki /稲垣三郎/ (May 6 , 1870 - April 28 , 1953) was born in Shimane Prefecture as the eldest son of Ryosai Inagaki. After graduating from the army school, he was assigned to the 1st cavalry battalion led by Yoshifuru Akiyama and served in the Sino-Japanese War . In 1899 he graduated with honors from the Army War College and thereafter went on to become a staff officer. In 1904 he served in the Russo-Japanese War as a staff officer of the Manchurian army. Around this time, he also served several times in England.
In 1918 he went to Siberia as a staff officer of the Urashio [Vladivostok] Expeditionary Force. After he retired from active duty, he served as the principal of the Japan Sports Association Gymnastics School (currently Nippon Sport Science University) and Kaninnomiya Betto.
