Lieutenant General Noboru Kunisaki/国崎登 陸軍中将

Lieutenant-General Noboru Kunisaki /国崎 登, August 20, 1886 - November 27, 1960) was born in Hiroshima Prefecture as the eldest son of Junzaburo Kunizaki. Graduated from the Army Academy in May 1907. In December of the same year, he was commissioned as an infantry second lieutenant and assigned to the 21st Infantry Regiment. After serving in the 63rd Infantry Regiment and other regiments, he graduated from the Army War College (32nd class) in November 1920 and was appointed company commander of the 63rd Infantry Regiment.

In April 1921, he became an instructor at the Army Infantry School, and was promoted to infantry major in March 1923. In May 1925, he was appointed to the General Staff, and served as a battalion commander of the 28th Infantry Regiment. In July 1927, he was promoted to infantry lieutenant colonel and assigned to the 2nd Guards Infantry Regiment. In August 1930, he was assigned to the Guards Division Headquarters, and served as attached to the 4th Guards Infantry Regiment and commander of the Morioka Regimental District. In April 1932, he was promoted to infantry colonel .

In March 1934, he was appointed commander of the 42nd Infantry Regiment, and after serving as chief of staff of the 9th Division, he was promoted to major general in August 1936 as commander of the 9th Infantry Brigade and deployed to the Second Sino-Japanese War. He participated in the Battle of Xuzhou and other battles. In October 1937, he became commander of the Kunizaki Detachment and participated in the Battle of Nanjing. He was transferred to the position of commander of the Infantry School, and in March 1939, he was promoted to lieutenant general. In August 1940, the 7th Division returned to Hokkaido, and in November 1941, it was transferred to the reserve.

In April 1942 , he was appointed principal of Shudo Middle School, but was called up in July 1944 and became commander of the 7th Absentee Division. He served as commander of the Asahikawa Divisional District until the end of the war, and was demobilized in November 1945.

On November 28, 1947, he was provisionally banned from holding public office.​
