Engraved on reverse /"S N Pototsky 19 14/VI 05 – 19 4/V 08"/"С Н Потоцкому 19 14/VI 05 – 19 4/V 08"

Sergey Nikolaevich Pototsky (1877–1954) - Russian military intelligence officer, military agent in Belgium, the Netherlands, Denmark (1917), major general. In 1903 he graduated from the Nikolaev Academy of the General Staff. From 06/14/1905 to 05/04/1908 he was a chief officer for assignments at the headquarters of the Moscow Military District. Since 1914, he was appointed a military agent in Belgium and the Netherlands. After the outbreak of the First World War he was very successful in organizing active intelligence in Germany from Danish territory for which he was awarded several orders. After the revolution of 1917 he retained the position of a military agent, during the Civil War he carried out orders from the leaders of the White movement. Until the end of his life he lived in exile in Copenhagen.​
