Museum of the Legion of Honor in Paris has in its collection at least five russian orders made by this workshop. According to one museum source these pieces (alongside many other foreign orders) were commissioned by the Grand Chancellery from the Ouizille Lemoine workshop in 1889 for the display at the Universal Exhibition. Another source claims that they were ordered by museum in 1932 for the opening of its room dedicated to foreign orders. Since all orders from museum collection bear workshop plates with workshop address 356 Rue de St. Honore 1932 time coordinate sounds more plausible (workshop moved to 356 Rue de St. Honore from its old address 1 Rue de Bac only in 1896).
A distinctive features of russian orders made by Ouizille Lemoine are
- numerous inaccuracies in details design;
- constant spelling errors in mottos of orders;
- rather low overall quality of manufacturing.
