On November 7, 1831 after the suppression of the Polish uprising of 1830–1831 Emperor Nicholas I ordered that officers and generals be given out “a badge of distinction belonging to the Kingdom of Poland for military merit” to officers and generals. 3rd class Virtuti Militari orders was awarded to field officers /Stabsoffizier/. During 1831-1835 Immanuel Pannasch workshop manufactured 1105 3rd class crosses.
