Baron Johann Peter Theodor von Wacquant-Geozelles /German: Johann Peter Theodor von Wacquant-Geozelles; May 15, 1754 , Brig, Austrian Empire (now Brzeg, Opole Voivodeship, Poland) - March 18, 1844, Vienna/ Austrian field marshal, feldzeugmeister (from 1835), diplomat, Privy Councillor.

He was awarded with 1st class St. Anna order on September 17, 1813 and with 2nd class St. Vladimir order on October 8, 1813.

Representative of an ancient and noble Luxembourg family he began his military career in September 1771 by joining the army of the Austrian Netherlands as a cadet. Later he served as a cartographer in the Netherlands. In July 1778 he was promoted to lieutenant and served in the Theresienstadt fortress.

During the war with the Turks, he showed courage at the siege of Šabac in 1788 and at the siege of Belgrade in 1789. After these campaign he became a captain.

After the outbreak of the French Revolution in February 1793 he was transferred as a captain in the Corps of Engineers as assistant to Field Marshal Prince Friedrich Josias of Saxe-Coburg-Saalfeld . Later, he served as a lieutenant colonel in the headquarters of the Austrian army on the Upper Rhine under the command of Field Marshal Dagobert Sigmund Graf von Wurmser. He distinguished himself on October 29, 1795, participating in the battle of Gilgenberg am Weilhart near Mannheim having managed to break through the enemy defenses with a grenadier battalion and blocking eighteen enemy guns in order to later begin shelling the city with his artillery.

He was appointed commander of the military fortresses of Würzburg and Ingolstadt. In 1801 he was appointed commander of the 21st Infantry Regiment Freiherr von Gemmingen. In the campaign of 1805 he distinguished himself at the Battle of Steken. After the conclusion of the armistice, he was responsible for determining the demarcation line between Tabor and Linz and also personally negotiated with Napoleon Bonaparte. In April 1807 he was promoted to major general in November of the same year he was sent to Braunau to establish control over the fortress abandoned by the French.

In 1809 he was appointed brigade commander of the 1st Army Corps of General Bellegard with which he participated in all the battles that took place in Bavaria. He showed courage at the battle of Aspern leading seven attacks against 12 000 French soldiers losing three horses under the saddle. With the same courage and courage, he then fought in the battle of Wagram where he also lost two horses.

In August 1809 he was promoted to the rank of lieutenant-field marshal and in March 1810 he became commander of the 62nd Infantry Regiment and also received the title of baron. In 1813 he took part in the War of the Sixth Coalition, was a participant in the battles of Dresden, Kulm and the Battle of the Nations.

He was the Imperial Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Kingdom of Württemberg in Stuttgart, Ambassador to Kassel until 1821 served as chairman of the Military Court of Appeal.

After fifty years of military service he decided to retire and returned to Vienna.​
