Order "Iskander-Salis" ("Sun of Alexander") was established in 1894 in Bukhara in memory of Emperor Alexander III. The order was intended as award to the highest officials of the Russian Empire in the rank of minister and above.

Description of the badge of the order from the 1904 "Memorial Book" /"Памятная книжка" за 1904 год/:

"Order of pure gold in the form of a star with 8 short rays covered with enamel ornament. In the middle of the circle, in the center of which there are four diamonds arranged in the form of a triangle, meaning the letter "A", under it in a small circle is the number "three" in the form of three Arabic ones. The figure is surrounded by diamonds. Around inscription "The Order of Iskander Salis of the capital city of Noble Bukhara".

"Орден из чистого золота в виде звезды с 8-ю короткими лучами, покрытыми эмалированным орнаментом. В середине круга, в центре которого четыре бриллианта, расположенные в виде треугольника, означающего букву "А", под ней в маленьком кружочке цифра «три» в виде трех арабских единичек. Цифра окружена бриллиантами. Вокруг подпись"Орден Искандер Салис столичного города Благородной Бухары".

Alexei Andreyevich Polivanov (March 16, 1855 – September 25, 1920) was a Russian military figure, infantry general (1915). He served as Russia's Minister of War from June 1915 until the Tsarina Alexandra forced his removal from office in March 1916.

Emir Sayyid Mir Muhammad Alim Khan (Uzbek: Said Mir Muhammad Olimxon, 3 January 1880 – 28 April 1944) was the last emir of the Uzbek Manghit dynasty, rulers of the Emirate of Bukhara in Central Asia. Although Bukhara was a protectorate of the Russian Empire from 1873, the Emir presided over the internal affairs of his emirate as absolute monarch and reigned from 3 January 1911 to 30 August 1920.​

Prince Mikhail Ivanovich Khilkov (also spelled Chilkoff, Chilkov, Khilkoff, Hilkof and other variants) (Russian: Михаил Иванович Хилков) (18 December [O.S. 6 December], 1834 - 8 March 1909) was a Russian railroad executive. He was born on the family estate in Sinevo-Dubrovo in Bezhetsky District, Tver Province, Russia. He died in St. Petersburg, and was buried in the village of Gorka in the Sonkovsky District, Tver Province. He served as the Minister of Social Works, Trade and Agriculture of Bulgaria in 1882–1885 and as the Minister of Communications of the Russian Empire in 1895–1905. Khilkov supervised operation of hospital trains during the Russo-Turkish War of 1877–1878, construction of the Trans-Caspian Railway and the Trans-Siberian Railway.​

Mikhail Vasilyevich Alekseyev (Russian: Михаил Васильевич Алексеев; 15 November [O.S. 3 November] 1857 – 8 October [O.S. 25 September] 1918) was an Imperial Russian Army general during World War I and the Russian Civil War. Between 1915 and 1917 he served as Tsar Nicholas II's Chief of Staff of the Stavka, and after the February Revolution, was its commander-in-chief under the Russian Provisional Government from March to May 1917. He later played a principal role in founding the Volunteer Army in the Russian Civil War and died in 1918 of heart failure while fighting the Bolsheviks in the Volga region.​
